Annette E. (Cyr) St. Jean

            WATERBURY – Annette E. (Cyr) St. Jean, 92, of Waterbury died Friday, April 12, 2019, at home surrounded by her four children.  She was the widow of Edmond E. St. Jean.

            Mrs. St. Jean was born in Waterbury, April 28, 1926, daughter of the late Maxime & Josephine (Bisaillion) Cyr and graduated from St. Anne’s Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School.  She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.

            Annette was deeply committed to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.  She especially loved to knit, having knitted for her family and also giving back to her community by knitting hundreds of prayer shawls.

            She is survived by her four children, Dennis M. St. Jean and his wife Carol of Germantown, MD, Diane M. Fedell and her husband Jim of Aliquippa, PA and Boynton Beach, FL, Peter G. St. Jean and his wife Nancy of Thomaston and Marc E. St. Jean of Vienna, VA, 2 sisters, Alma Gerardi of Hilton Head, SC and Yvette Hirbour of Corona, CA, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Lynne Miraglia and a brother, Gerard Cyr who was killed in the Korean War.

            The family would like to thank Walsh’s Market for their home delivery service which allowed her to remain independent, Hartford Healthcare Hospice and Aging Better at Home Agency for the compassion and caring they provided in her final days, and Knitting Angels & Angel Hookers Prayer Shawl Ministry for providing materials and necessary services, allowing Mom to bring comfort to others in need.

            Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St, Waterbury CT is in charge of arrangements.
