          Harry W. Messemer, 96, formally of Waterbury passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (Lawlor) Messemer. 

          Harry was born in Glendale, Long Island, New York on November 1, 1924 to Harry and Theresa Messemer. He graduated from the R.C.A. Institute and took several Electronics Classes at Kaynor Technical School over the years. 

          He was a US Army Veteran, having served in WWII in France and was retired from the Bristol Company in Waterbury where he worked as an Inspector for many years. 

          His hobbies included photography, reading and crossword puzzles and had a love for all types of animals, especially his dogs, Digger and April. 

          He is survived by his niece, Lynne Durette of Waterbury and his nephew Glenn Durette of Seymour. 

          Services will be private and entombment will take place in Calvary Garden Mausoleum.  The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. is assisting with arrangements.
