Helen Eva Daugerdas
WATERBURY- Helen Eva Daugerdas, 99, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 29, 2019.
Born February 20, 1920, in Waterbury to Mary (Padaigas) and Frank Daugerdas, she graduated from Wilby High School and continued her education at Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Oral Hygiene. Upon graduating, she worked as a hygienist in the offices of Walter Sellens, DMD and Irving Ressler, DMD.
She travelled extensively, however Waterbury was her home. She resided in downtown Waterbury most of her life. As an active and social figure downtown for close to 40 years, she frequented all the local stores, restaurants, concerts and the summer farm markets, always willing to engage anyone she met in conversation, knowing she would likely learn something new!
She is survived by her niece, Nancy Pierpoint and nephews John Daugerdas and his wife Amy and Richard DelRusso, as well as grandnephews Richard DelRusso and Joseph Daugerdas.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings and their spouses John and Eleanor Daugerdas and Mary (Mae) and Louis DelRusso.
The family would like to thank Dr. A. Suri for his kind and focused care over the years, the Village at East Farms’ staff, who embraced her as family and Seasons Hospice for making her life’s transition peaceful.
