       LOVELAND, CO - June Olive (Downey) Branco, 92, formerly of Waterbury died peacefully on Monday January 27, 2020 at North Shore Nursing Home in Loveland. She was the widow of Antonio Branco.

       She is survived by her children, Gail Bonner and her husband Jim of Winchester, CA, Douglas Branco of San Diego, CA and Dwight Branco and his wife Mary of Loveland, CO. She is also survived by her granddaughter Andrea Branco of Fort Collins, CO as well as sisters, Nancy Ouellette, Maureen Barringer and Carol Russo. She was predeceased by her brother Morton Downey and her sister Patricia (Giusto) Mucciacciaro.

       June was born in Waterbury on July 19, 1927 the daughter of James and Olive (Morency) Downey. She was married to Antonio Branco for 58 years. He predeceased her in November 2006. June resided in Waterbury most of her life. She enjoyed her family and friends. She was fun loving and her colorful personality sparkled wherever she went. June enjoyed being around people and having a good debate. She worked at Hemingway Box Shop for 14 years. She also worked at Airpax for 9 years. She was a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Franco-American Club. Her interests varied from sewing, travel, classic movies and her pets. A special thanks to her sister Nancy Ouellette and to her godson Neil Holland for helping her stay in her home as long as possible and to our good friend Jack Alseph who went above and beyond helping to make June’s transition to Colorado easier.

       She spent the last three years in Loveland, Colorado. She enjoyed the beautiful skies of Colorado and liked to point out all of the images she saw in the cloud formations. She was a favorite of all the wonderful caregivers that helped her along the way. Her wit and humor kept everyone laughing. Her feistiness and inner strength kept her going. She will be missed.

       Funeral services will be Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street, Waterbury. Calling hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury.
