Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother


           WOODBURY - Lois Patricia Nardiello, 85, passed away on Tuesday, Sept 25, 2018, at her home. She was the widow of Richard C. Nardiello, having been married for 59 years.  
           Mrs. Nardiello was born June 21, 1933, in Waterbury, to the late John and Genevieve (Jacaruso) Marinaro. She attended Waterbury schools, and graduated from Wilby High School. She accepted a position at Commercial Credit (formerly in Waterbury) after high school, and married Richard Nardiello in 1954, in Waterbury, where they lived with their three children for more than 20 years. They relocated to Woodbury where they lived for 38 years.
           In her earlier years, Mrs. Nardiello worked at G. Fox and Mikerz Pharmacy, formerly in Waterbury. She was a barber-stylist, and worked for a time with her husband at Richard’s Barber Shop, formerly on Willow in Waterbury. She was a volunteer for the town of Woodbury during the election season.
           She enjoyed music, time with her friends at “club,” trips with her husband, and going to ceramics with her sisters, having made many beautiful pieces.
Spending time with family was most important to her, and she loved to cook and bake for family dinners. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband during his illness.
           She leaves three children, Patricia (Nardiello) Ryan, and Richard S. Nardiello and his wife, Nancy, all of Waterbury, and Debra (Nardiello) Carlson of Woodbury; a brother, John Marinaro Jr. and his wife, Barbara; of Watertown;  two sisters, Carol Painter and her husband, Herb, of Watertown, and Beverly DeSanto and her husband, Paul, of Waterbury; and seven grandchildren, Dawn (Carlson) Corbo, Ashley Carlson and her fiancé, Ryan Martin, Eric Carlson and his wife, Kate, Lindsey Ryan, Melissa Nardiello, Tricia (Nardiello) Wielgoszewski and her husband, Marcin, and Steven M. Nardiello. She also leaves her sister-in- law, Grace Nardiello of Yorba Linda, CA. 
           Two great-grandchildren, Liviana Jean Nardiello, and Olivia Marie Wielgoszewski, and many nieces and nephews, also survive her.
           Services are private. Arrangements are entrusted to Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street in Waterbury.
