Loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister 

            Oakville- Lydia Mae (Chasse) Tamberino, 81, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She was the widow of Joseph James Tamberino, Sr.

          Lydia was born September 9, 1940 in Millinocket, Maine daughter of the late Frederick B. Chasse Sr., and Alice (LeVasseur) Chasse and lived in Waterbury most of her life.

          Besides raising her three children, Lydia worked at Scovill Mfg. Co. and Unitec of Watertown.  She was an avid fan of Jeopardy, loved her morning newspaper, crossword puzzles and reading.  She also enjoyed knitting baby hats for Waterbury Hospital and Christmas stockings for friends and family.

          Lydia is survived by her two children, Joseph James Tamberino, Jr. of Oakville and Barbra Engelhard and her husband Brad of Oakville, her son-in-law, Norman Elkins of Watertown, two grandchildren, Laura Engelhard of Oakville and Crystal Warren of Sarasota FL, a brother, Rannie Chasse and his wife Jackie of Ansonia and a brother-in-law, Edward Tamberino and his wife Gladys of Oakville.

          Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Elkins, her sister, Leona Cerullo and two brothers, Daniel Chasse and Frederick Chasse, Jr.

          Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday November 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Road, Waterbury. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church.   Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.  The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. Waterbury is assisting with the arrangements.
