          WATERBURY – Mary Ryan Werzinger, 95, died June 3, 2021 at Apple Rehab of Watertown after a brief illness.

          A lifelong Waterbury resident, she was the daughter of the late Lucy (Freney) Ryan and George T. Ryan.  She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Francis X. Werzinger in 2009 and two sisters, Jane Ryan Jensen and Lucy Ryan Gaffney.

          After graduation from Waterbury Catholic High School, Class of 1943, she worked in the medical field, attended St. Raphael’s Hospital School of Nursing, was employed by Waterbury Hospital and retired from the Waterbury Public Health Department after twenty-five years of service.

          Mary leaves two children, Elizabeth Archambeault and her husband Frank of Avon and Francis X. Werzinger of Hamden, four grandchildren, Christine Edgar and her husband Alexander of Granby, Lisa Trifon and her husband Rory of Westport, Frank Archambeault, Jr. of Bristol and Lynn Webster and her husband Michael of Lakeville, also five great-grandchildren, Alexander and Nicholas Edgar, Emilie and Olive Webster and Greyson Trifon.

          Mary’s family would like to thank all the friends she had at the Eastgate Apartments where she lived for many years and the staff at Apple Rehab of Watertown for the wonderful and compassionate care she received.

          The funeral will be held Monday June 7, 2021 at 10:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St to Mary, Mother of the Church Parish – St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Drive, Waterbury, CT 06705 for a Mass at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Calling hour is Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that face coverings be worn.
