       WATERBURY- Peter “Bill” W. Kelly IV, 69, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his home.

       Mr. Kelly was born September 5, 1948, in Waterbury, son of the late Peter and Agnes (Butler) Kelly. He grew up in Wolcott. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, stationed aboard USS Kitty Hawk in San Diego, California. He also served time in Vietnam and Korea.

       After his time with the Navy, he travelled as a truck driver before finding his passion with a long-time career in painting. Bill enjoyed classic TV and movies, and most of all spending time with his family around the kitchen table.

       He leaves a sister, Mary Ellen (Kelly) Mantz and her husband David of Wolcott; a brother, Thomas Kelly and his partner Kristine Ekberg of Waterbury, and numerous nieces, nephews, a grand-nephew and grand-niece, all of which were near and dear to his heart. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jack and Bob Kelly.

       Funeral will be Monday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street to St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd, Wolcott for a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Old St. Joseph Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10 a.m.

       Contributions: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bill’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
