Phyllis (Berube) Dambrauskas
Waterbury - Phyllis (Berube) Dambrauskas, widow of Anthony Dambrauskas, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
More than almost anything, Phyllis enjoyed being outside in the sunshine, especially the beach at Hammonassett State Park with her husband Tony. Afterwards they would treat themselves to a cold beer and seafood dinner at one of the many restaurants along Route 1.
After Phyllis retired from Scovill Manufacturing/Century Brass, she and Tony enjoyed travelling with family and friends and relaxing in the back yard of their Waterbury home.
After her husband passed in 2015, Phyllis moved to the Village at East Farms where she was able to let someone else do the cooking and cleaning, while taking part in penny poker games, Bingo and attending Mass on Sundays.
Phyllis became a resident of Cheshire House Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in June of this year, where she received outstanding, compassionate care until her passing.
She was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Ernest and Donald and sister Beatrice (Donahue).
Phyllis leaves behind a daughter, Lynn Creek and her husband Doug, of Gatesville Texas, a son Carl and his wife Ann Marie of Wolcott, CT, 3 grandchildren, Leigh Schmidt and her husband Shane of Austin, Texas, Mark Dambrauskas of Wolcott, CT, and Veronica Sherwood and her husband Nate of Norfolk, VA.
The Dambrauskas family sends their most heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Village at East Farms and Cheshire House. Knowing mom was safe and well taken care of gave the family peace of mind.
