A Quiet Man


            WATERBURY - Vincent C. LeRoy, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

            Vinny was born in Waterbury on April 14,1950 son of the late Vincent C. LeRoy, Sr. and Mary (Robinson) LeRoy. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Fairfield University and earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration from The University of New Haven and was employed at Timex until his retirement.

            Vinny was a quiet man and would do anything for you. His sisters will forever be grateful to Vinny for taking such good care of their parents so they could be in their own home until they passed.

            Vinny was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed watching PGA golf tournaments and UCONN women’s basketball games on TV. He had a strong interest in the history of Waterbury and collected photos and articles reflecting it.

            Vinny developed many close and lasting friendships at “The Cave” on East Main Street in Waterbury. One of his greatest pleasures was working on the fundraisers for the 1900 Club that created scholarships for Waterbury area graduating seniors. He proudly served as an officer for the Club for many years.  He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

            Vinny will be dearly missed by his sisters, Elizabeth Contant and her husband Philip of Springfield, MA, Mary Harris and her husband Mark of Vacaville, CA, Noreen DeLauretis and her husband Billy of Oakville, CT, 9 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.

            Vinny’s family would like to thank Masonicare Home Health and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

            A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. with Deacon George Hajjar officiating.  Burial will follow in MT Olivet Cemetery, Watertown.  Calling hour is from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Face coverings and social distancing will be required.
