WATERBURY – Viola Mary Humphries, 94, of Waterbury died Thursday January 23, 2020 at Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden.
Viola was born December 14, 1925 in Waterbury daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Telash) Humphries and attended Watertown High School and Post Junior College. She had worked at Hubbard Hall Chemical Company and the City of Waterbury Community Development Agency.
Viola had a way of teaching us all how to appreciate the small joys in life. She loved watching Tiger Woods play golf. She loved hot lobster rolls. She enjoyed watching old movies and when she was able to read, she enjoyed a good romance novel. When she was younger, she loved to crochet and made lovely sweaters.  Things were not important to Viola. What was important was the time she spent with the people she loved. She is survived by her cousin Lillian O’Neil. She enjoyed a close relationship with Lillian’s husband George and their children especially Brian who she said was like a son to her.
The family would like to thank Ivyline Aristide who provided exceptional care to Viola when she was living at home.
Funeral services are at the convenience of the family. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street is in charge of arrangements.
